  • BOARD CHAIR

    Mary Hatcher-Skeers is a Professor of Chemistry and the Sydney J. Weinberg, Jr. Chair of Natural Sciences at the Keck Science Department of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer and Scripps College. Mary particularly enjoys teaching introductory chemistry and has developed a smaller section of General Chemistry for students who want extra help in problem solving. Mary is passionate about improving retention and success for all students in the first semester of chemistry, a traditional curricular roadblock for under-represented students. Mary has a demonstrated commitment to increasing representation of groups currently underrepresented in STEM fields. In addition to curricular developments, Mary has been a part of the Scripps College Academy and is the faculty liaison for the First Generation @Scripps program. Mary Is a proud Pacer, Class of 1984 and proud Pacer mom to Elana (Class of 2019, now at the University of Washington in Seattle), Amelia (Class of 2022), and future Pacer, Katherine (Class of 2024)

 
 
  • BOARD CO-CHAIR

    Tom Carr joined Gould Asset Management in 2002. His primary responsibilities include portfolio management, investor reporting, and relationship management with clients and financial advisors. As a portfolio manager, Tom plays a lead role in the fixed income area, and has been instrumental in establishing and maintaining Gould’s high level of client service. Prior to joining Gould Asset Management, he was a senior investment specialist with Charles Schwab & Co., where he provided financial planning and investment advice for nine years. Tom has a BA in Management Science from the University of California at San Diego, and holds both the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Accredited Estate Planner certifications. He also sits on the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council of Pomona Valley, and is a former president of the Council. Tom is an avid sports fan, and enjoys cycling, running and golf.

 
 
  • PRINCIPAL

    Mrs. Arteaga is one of three Cook sisters who were fortunate to have attended and graduated from Pomona Catholic. Jennifer ('90) is a Math teacher at Marlborough School for Girls in Los Angeles and Kristen ('96) is a homemaker and mommy to Nathan & Emerson. Mrs. Arteaga is a member of the California Association for School Counselors and American School Counselors Association.
